SATURDAY, 8/15:

Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcadia: opened as a distribution center.

First United Methodist Church: Sent 1,500 bottles of water to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the American Red Cross in Desoto County per an urgent request from the Manatee EOC to the church.

Braden River United Methodist Church: Helped coordinate as a collection point and took a trailer load of food and water collected from:

Faith United Methodist Church: 2,000 bottles of water and food.

Braden River United Methodist Church: Food and supplies.

North United Methodist Church: 500 bottles of water and food supplies

First United Methodist Church, Palmetto:

Food and water (also cooked dinner for the church and community).

Community donations: Food and water.

 

SUNDAY, 8/16:

Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcadia: The church’s entire attendance after worship loaded the supplies delivered on Saturday and took them into the community.

Pasadena United Methodist Church: Took seven truckloads of food and water to First United Methodist Church, Bradenton. Four of the trucks were taken to Arcadia.

First United Methodist Church, Bradenton: Took a full trailer and four truckloads of water, food and medical supplies to Arcadia. Sent a crew to Rev. Gary Beam’s home and cleared significant downed trees and opened up his driveway.

Braden River United Methodist Church: Delivered three truckloads of items.

Parrish United Methodist Church: Delivered four truckloads of items.

Braden River United Methodist Church: Delivered a truckload of food and spent the afternoon cooking outside Trinity United Methodist Church, Arcadia, for the community.

Harvest United Methodist Church: Sent 15 vehicles with supplies and about 40 volunteers to help distribute throughout the community.

Old Miakka United Methodist Church: Delivered four truckloads of supplies and generators and provided volunteers.
