FROM THE DELAND DISTRICT OFFICE:
The district office is encouraging each district church to visit the Florida Conference Web site at http://www.flumc.org and access the Florida Storm Recovery information, take an offering this Sunday and next for relief efforts, and collect the above supplies and food. A number of churches are serving as collection sites. The district office is also compiling a list of people who need help and coordinating work teams.

Halifax Urban Ministries in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and New Smyrna Beach (HUM):
Have had an increased flow of people needing food assistance since the hurricane. They have given out 400 "feed a family bags" filled with groceries just this week. This is the amount they distribute during a normal month; therefore, they are in urgent need of additional non-perishable food. The initial food collected in the district will go to HUM to help assist storm victims.
