Rev. Cubell A. Johnson
The Rev. Cubell A. Johnson, a retired member of the Florida Conference, died May 2. Johnson served the United Methodist Church for 33 years in appointments in Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville and Miami. He was also superintendent of the South Florida District.

Rev. Glenn Mingledorff
The Rev. Glenn Mingledorff, former president of Emory & Henry College and son of the late Rev. Charles Mingledorff of the Florida Conference, died Aug. 4.

Mingledorff was an alumnus of United Methodist-related Florida Southern College in Lakeland and served as local pastor at the Methodist Church in Eaton Park.

Rev. Robert H. Hines
The Rev. Robert "Pete" Hines, 69, a retired member of the Florida Conference, died Aug. 26. Hines served appointments in Interlachen, Miami, Highland City, Leesburg and Gainesville during his 40 years of service to the United Methodist Church. He also served 24 years as chaplain of Goodwill Industries-Suncoast.

Dr. Samuel Banks
The Rev. Dr. Samuel A. Banks, 72, a former professor of human development and director of foundation relations at Eckerd College and a member of the Florida Conference, died Sept. 12.

In addition to 49 years of service to the United Methodist Church, Banks was a faculty member of the University of Florida colleges of medicine and arts and sciences and president of Dickinson College and the University of Richmond. He was also a clinical psychologist.

Rev. Tom Woodard
The Rev. Tom Woodard, 59, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Lakeland, died Sept. 18 after a long battle with cancer.

Woodard served the United Methodist Church for 19 years at appointments in Bradenton and Miami.
