We are seeking a new Modern Worship Leader for our 9:45am Modern service on Sunday mornings. This is a part-time (10 hours per week) staff position.

About us: We are an authentic group of people whose mission is to connect to God, others, and the world.  In the Modern Service we enjoy a variety of current Christian music and some new takes on old classics.  We worship from the heart and will expect you to do the same.

About you: You are a committed Christian who is spiritually mature, energetic, passionate about worship arts and service-minded.  You know that leading worship is about helping us to connect with God – not a concert.  You are technically trained, leadership-focused, and desire to work with a fun, dedicated, and experienced team.

Objective: To provide leadership to the Modern Worship Team.  Candidate must have integrity and a heart for worship, and understand the heart of volunteers. Candidate will be expected to develop the existing team bringing out our own modern vibe and a continuous striving for excellence.  In addition to outstanding skills as a musician (preferably guitar) and singer, we are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of the theology of worship, music theory and an interest in the current trends in contemporary worship.

Position Description: Be the “producer” of the modern Sunday morning Modern worship service.  The Pastor is the “director” regarding setting the theme and overall direction; the Worship Leader oversees most of the other service elements.  You will be scheduling/managing the volunteers, selecting the music, directing the musicians, vocalists and technical teams.

Hours:  10 hours per week, which includes rehearsal, warm-up, and the 9:45am Sunday service.  You will be allowed to work the rest of your hours remotely (selecting songs, scheduling volunteers, etc.)

SKILLS DESIRED:

  1. Preferred experience in leading contemporary worship, including instructing bands, vocalists and technicians.
  2. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, team building, and relational skills essential.
  3. Ability to recruit, train and empower volunteers.
  4. Must have basic computer skills (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, email, and music formatting).  Preferred experience with Proclaim and Planning Center Online / CCLI
  5. Preferred working knowledge of audio equipment and assisting with technical issues that arise.
  6. A creative style for bringing variety to worship thru music or other artistic elements.

Salary: based on experience, contract (1099) position for 10 hours per week, with the opportunity for future growth
