Seeking Director of Children's Ministry (25 hours/week)


Tuskawilla United Methodist Church, serving the communities of Casselberry and Winter Springs in the heart of Seminole County in Central Florida, is seeking our next Director of Children's Ministries (25 hours/week). The Children's Director is responsible for leading and managing ministry programs for TUMC's Children (birth through grade 5). The purpose of these programs is to lead children in an understanding of the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ through engaging experiences in group building, worship, discipleship, and mission. The Children’s Minister shall maintain a comprehensive approach to children’s ministry which includes all children and their parents, while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.  The Children’s Minister shall develop and oversee age appropriate activities for all children that encourage them to learn about the community of faith through fun, spiritual growth and Christian fellowship.

Candidates must be self-starters and able to work independently as well as serve as part of a ministry team. Candidates must have excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and be fluent in multi-media and social-media communication platforms. 

A solid understanding of the foundations of the Christian faith; embracing Christian discipline and United Methodist doctrine and theology; a desire to nurture young people in the Christian faith; a proven ability to work effectively with children, families, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers; and a bachelor's degree in a related field or two years related experience are preferred.
