The Health and Wholeness task team is seeking people with a passion to minister to all of God's children by providing relevant ministry to those who are mentally or physically challenged, those who are deaf or disabled as well as to all of God's children , by promoting healthy living. The mission of the Health and Wholeness Ministry team is to work for a more accessible ministry in Jesus Christ to all persons.

The church responds to the special needs of all persons. Our conference is active through this task force raising awareness on behalf of persons who are mentally and physically challenged. Through local church programs such as Access Sunday and Golden Cross Sunday, these concerns are brought to the local church. Recent opportunities have moved the conference to sponsor and promote the opening of Wesley Group Homes, such as the one which opened in June, 1998, in the Ft. Lauderdale/ Hollywood area.

Camp Pioneer offers a Christian environment for mentally and emotionally challenged youth and young adults in a camp setting at the Warren Willis Camp during two one week sessions.

Disability Awareness Sunday: You can find this information on Southeastern United Methodist Agency for Rehabilitation, Inc. Web site www.semar-umc.org.  Download and use the hard copy. We suggest October as the month for this special Sunday. At this time no offering has been approved for Disability Sunday. If you wish you can combine the two Sundays. The Golden Cross Offering can be taken the Sunday that you do Disability Awareness.
