"Say a Prayer, Send a Note" is an initiative of the Office of Global Missions that seeks to encourage churches and individuals across the Florida Conference to support our missionaries by praying for them and by sending notes of appreciation for their service. We are featuring today missionaries Britt and Alison Gilmore, Tim Crawford and Leonardo and Cleyvi Garcia.
Would you like to reach out to our missionaries in prayer and gratitude? Say a Prayer, Send a Note!
Britt and Alison Gilmore are missionaries of the General Board of Global Ministries assigned to the East Belfast Mission in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Britt serves as the Minister of Outreach and Community within the Mission. He participates in the worship and discipleship life of the congregation, and also seeks to maintain a pastoral presence with the activities of EBM that are outside the congregation. Alison works part-time as a mental health therapist in the counseling center at EBM. She works alongside one other part-time counselor, and the two of them largely see individuals from the community surrounding the Mission. Tim Crawford is an Associate In Mission Service (AIMS) serving as Development Director at Red Bird Mission. His responsibilities include interpreting the ministries of Red Bird Mission through production of electronic and print media, giving guided tours to visitor groups, and making presentations to organizations and churches. Tim says, "I have seen so many lives changed because of our mission outreach of the United Methodist Church over the years that I never grow weary of telling others of the good that we are doing all the time in true Wesleyan fashion. My experiences also inspire me to look for new stories each day of the impact Red Bird Mission is having on thousands of people in southeastern Kentucky." Send a Note to Tim.
Leo and Cleivy Garcia are missionaries of the Methodist Church in Cuba assigned to the East Angola Conference. Their responsibilities are with the Quessua Mission near Malanje, Angola, and include teaching at the Faculty of Theology in Quessua, providing leadership for the Orphanage, and coordinating Florida volunteer groups. Leonardo and Cleivy are both graduates of the School of Medicine in Cuba and of the Methodist Seminary in Havana. Their support comes from covenant churches in the Florida Conference. Read the latest update to their blog here and don’t forget to Send a Note to Leo and Cleivy.
