Mercy Outreach

Mercy in Hebrew is "chesedh" meaning God's unconditional grace and compassion.  This is usually serving immediate, urgent and/or emergency needs like food, clothing, lodging, medical and financial assistance.

Below are partners who provide emergency services to the poor, needy, outcasts, widows, families and single parents with children:

Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministries - BEAM is a community based organization serving low income residents in Jacksonville’s beaches communities and relying heavily on community support to assist our neighbors in time of need.  We envision a future in which no beaches resident goes hungry or is haunted by the fear of eviction.

Catholic Charities of America - Workforce Development Program - The Workforce Development Program with the Catholic Charities of America helps the unemployed and underemployed achieve financial stability through job readiness training and job referrals.

Clara White Mission - The Clara White Mission works in partnership with the community to prevent and reduce homelessness through advocacy, housing, job training, and employment.

City Rescue Mission - CRM exists to transform the lives of the homeless and needy, serving them through the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.

Downtown Ecumenical Services - Downtown Ecumenical Services Council – DESC – was founded in 1981 by churches in urban Jacksonville to provide emergency assistance to people in need.

Family Promise - Family Promise of Jacksonville is a non-profit, interfaith hospitality network providing temporary assistance, hospitality and case management for families with children experiencing homelessness.

Mission House - Mission House is the only day facility to help meet the needs of the homeless adults at the Beaches through compassion, faith, and programs designed to provide assistance at an individual level.We address basic needs through our meal, shower, case management, and medical programs.

Salvation Army - The Salvation Army is an international movement, an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Our mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Sulzbacher Center - The Sulzbacher Center is Northeast Florida’s largest provider of comprehensive services for homeless men, women and children. They are one of only a few centers in the nation to offer a full range of services for the homeless 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Trinity Rescue Mission - Trinity Rescue Mission was established in 1962 by the congregation of Trinity Baptist Church and church leaders as an expression of their burden for the homeless and hurting people on the streets in Jacksonville.

United Community Outreach Ministry - UCOM UrbanServ, Inc offers several different programs aimed at ending hunger and poverty in the community.
